My predictions on mobile internet

1) Mobile internet will increase email usage and overshadow SMS and MMS.
Email is cheaper, better, accessible anywhere (PC, mobile phone, etc.) and free. SMS and MMS are expensive and too restrictive (140 characters max, no rich text available, no attachments available, only accessible between mobile phones, etc.).

2) The next big company to rise will be from mobile internet or mobile software.
The PC market had Microsoft, the internet market had Google, and the mobile market will create a new player that is even bigger. However, this can only happen if the telecoms companies continue to reduce the price for mobile internet to the point it becomes a commodity.

3) Emerging countries will mostly benefit from mobile internet.
India and China are the biggest markets that will benefit from the mobile internet, so is the African market.

4) Cloud computing will mostly benefit from mobile internet.
Mobile data and services will mainly reside on the internet: address books, calendars, etc.
