Goodbye TwitterFon, good morning TweetDeck

http://tweetdeck.com/beta/ →

TweetDeck has everything I'm looking for. You can manage multiple accounts, the user interface is very intuitive and you can customize your messages in separate columns: in fact, the only way to use this app is to navigate by column, just like the way you would open a new page on MobileSafari. This is what makes it so intuitive, each column is in fact a page that represents a custom display. By default TweetDeck offers 3 pages: your friends, people mentioning your name and direct messages (DM). Where it gets interesting is that you can create your own pages too. As an example, I created one page to track all discussions on Michael Jackson and I created another page to track all discussions about Stevie Wonder. You can also customize by account, user group (you filter your friends), friends and search keyword.

The only 2 reasons why I don't give it 5 stars are because it crashes very often (most probably because I'm using iPhone OS 2.1) and there's no way to track trends. I good to have would have also been to support identi.ca.

I stood with TwitterFon  because it was an open source client that delivered everything I needed. But ever since I read TwitterFon  wasn't open source anymore and added ads on the free application I was looking for alternatives. I definitely switched to TweetDeck after using it for few minutes.

Update August 1st, 2009: The application is more stable ever since I've upgraded to iPhone 3.0.

Stevie Wonder concert is the best show the Montreal Jazz Festival has offered so far

Big crowd, great music, acceptable weather, gorgeous site and for the final ... amazing fireworks!
